Small group journeys are experiences with 2-3 participants who already know each other and have sought out services because they prefer to journey together in the same room. Ideal participants are comfortable enough with one another, have already established trust and are committed to not interfering with the other participants journeys. These are individual journeys with the intention of going inward towards your own healing, but in a small group setting.

Choosing an individual session can be especially supportive if you are seeking a deeply personalized experience that centers your unique needs, intentions, and comfort. In a one-on-one setting, you have the full presence of your facilitator and the spaciousness to explore your inner world at your own pace, without distraction or outside energy.

Group sessions can be incredibly transformative and offer their own kind of magic, creating opportunities for individual and collective healing and meaningful connection. At the same time, they are not the right fit for everyone. If you sense that another person’s process or presence might pull you away from your own inner work, an individual session may offer a clearer, steadier container for your journey.

Group sessions are a slightly more affordable option, so please talk with us more about whether this is your primary reason for choosing a group session. We want to be sure group seems like the best fit for you regardless of cost.

The pricing for all of our journeys is inclusive of almost everything required to have a comfortable and meaningful journey. Pricing for all types of journeys includes two hours of preparation, two (or more) licensed facilitators for the duration of dosing day, room rental fees at a licensed service center, one check in call within 24 hours of dosing day, one hour integration session within the the first week and all of the comforts you may require during the day - including snacks!

Currently, health insurance is not accepted for psilocybin sessions anywhere. The regulations around psychedelic-assisted therapy, including psilocybin treatments, are still evolving, and insurance coverage for such services is not yet widely available.

Psilocybin journeys have been done for thousands of years across many cultures and in religious ceremony. We honor and respect these traditions and cultures and don’t hold our own way to help use this sacred medicine above any others. There are many routes and pathways to use psilocybin in a safe way, but not all are currently legal.

Maggie and Cecilia are both licensed facilitators in the state of Oregon and provide psilocybin therapy as a licensed facilitator, not under clinical licensure, in compliance with Oregon’s legal framework.

The Oregon Psilocybin Services Act was voted into law by Oregonians in November 2020 and was codified in Oregon law in Oregon Revised Statutes Chapter 475A. ORS 475A directs the Oregon Health Authority (OHA) to license and regulate the production of psilocybin products and the provision of psilocybin services. Oregon was the first state in the U.S. to create a regulatory framework for psilocybin services.

The Oregon Psilocybin Services section (OPS) is housed within the Oregon Health Authority’s Public Health Division. OPS is responsible for administering ORS 475A, which includes adoption and administrative rules, issuing licenses, and regulating licensees to ensure compliance with statute and rules. OPS began accepting license applications on January 2, 2023, and licensed psilocybin service centers began to open their doors to clients in the summer of 2023.

We recommend wearing comfortable clothes and find that it is good to wear layers. You may find that you get warm or chilly and it is nice to have options - think cozy socks, sweat pants, tank tops and zip-up sweatshirts.

We will have blankets and pillows and everything you need to be comfortable but feel free to bring a favorite cozy blanket if you’d like. We will provide eye masks and headphones, but if you have your own that you would prefer to use, feel free to bring those as well.

Journals, stones, meaningful mementos such as photos, jewelry, stones or anything you might want to touch or look at during your journey for grounding or comfort are very welcome. We will discuss this further during your preparation session.

We believe there is no such thing as a bad trip, only challenging experiences. Although people do occasionally have challenging experiences we have seen people uncover and learn a tremendous amount about themselves through these experiences. One of the benefits of having a facilitator is that we will be there to support you through any challenging experiences and will work together in preparation to discuss how you think you will best feel supported if something uncomfortable does arise. Often people come to us with more anxiety if they have had a “bad trip” previously. Most often, a “bad trip” boils down to unhelpful set and/or setting. Set is considered your mindset leading up to and in the experience which includes emotions, thoughts and expectations. Setting is the environment and physical space. We do our best to help you have the best set and setting possible for your experience and have put a lot of thought in to preparation and structure of sessions as well as the setting. We picked Bend Inner Alchemy as the service center we partner with because we believe the space is well thought out, beautifully taken care of and each element has been carefully chosen to create safety and comfort for all journeys.

Let’s chat and figure that out. Psilocybin is safe and beneficial to most people but there are a few limitations to who Oregon Psilocybin Services has stated do not meet criteria for psilocybin services at this time. Risk factors include family history or current diagnosis of Bipolar Disorder or psychosis, recent or current suicidal ideation, pre-existing heart conditions or blood pressure issues and being on some medications. We would love to talk through this further with you. We want to make sure we are a mutual fit.

You will purchase your mushrooms directly from Bend Inner Alchemy, a licensed service center. All psilocybin products consumed must be cultivated or produced by a licensed psilocybin manufacturer, tested by a licensed laboratory, and may only be provided to a client by a licensed psilocybin service center during an administration session.

Per the Oregon Health Authority guidelines, psilocybin products are cultivated and/or processed by a licensed manufacturer and are tracked in the OPS product tracking system. The products are tested by a licensed laboratory accredited by the Oregon Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Program (ORELAP), and test results are entered into the OPS product tracking system. The products are sold or transferred from a licensed manufacturer to a licensed service center. All product sales are tracked in the OPS product tracking system.

No, it is not permitted to bring mushrooms home with you after a psilocybin session at Bend Inner Alchemy. All psilocybin substances must be consumed within the safe, supportive, and legal service center under the supervision and monitoring of Bend Inner Alchemy staff or facilitators.

If you already have a therapist at home and would find it helpful, we would be happy to connect with them but ultimately we believe that your integration journey is your own and it will unfold as it needs to. Integration is a lifelong process and our belief is that it never stops.

It is important to take care of your mental and physical health before a journey. Move your body, drink lots of water, get plenty of sleep, put good food in to your body and avoid alcohol and any other substance use. Work toward incorporating grounding or meditation practices in to your life leading up to journeys as this can be helpful in staying grounded on administration day. Self reflection practices such as journaling or mindfulness can be helpful in reviewing or reminding yourself of your intentions for the journey and to ensure you will be in the best mindset possible for your journey day. Trust yourself! Your body knows what it is doing and knows exactly what is needed.

If you are coming from out of town and would like help finding a good hotel in the area, or if you are a local who just wants to get away for the night (perhaps if your home life is a bit, ahem, chaotic - maybe if you are a parent of small children?) it can be nice to have a quiet place to land after your journey. Many clients have found it helpful to book a hotel for the night after the journey. There are lots of lovely spots within walking distance that we would be happy to suggest.

Nope! We are therapists, but while we are in a facilitation role we are acting only as facilitators. This means we will be in a non-directive role and will be there to create and ensure safety and offer presence and support as needed. Although Oregon house bill 2387 allows for dual licensures as both mental health professionals and licensed facilitators, we must adhere to being strictly facilitators in a psilocybin administration session.

1) Must be 21 years of age or older.

2) Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.

4) Must pass a criminal background check.

5) Must complete a psilocybin training program that has had curriculum approved by Oregon Psilocybin Services prior to applying for licensure. This includes completion of core training, practicum, and a comprehensive exam administered by the training program you enroll with.

6) Must pass an exam administered by Oregon Psilocybin Services.

7) Must complete workers permit for service centers.

8) Must pay application fee as well as annual license fees and complete yearly continuing education.

Unfortunately, legal access to psilocybin assisted therapy is an expensive endeavor for many reasons. We are hopeful that as the benefits become more widely known, someeeeday insurance might cover sessions. In the mean time there are many regulatory fees in place to ensure safety. It’s a bummer! We are right there with you. There is a yearly licensure fee per facilitator ($2,000), application fees, a workers permit fee, background checks, cost of education required (5k-15k for most programs) and daily rental of licensed service center space ($800) because they pay high annual fees. We choose to include the service center space cost in our fee because we are really committed to you not being surprised by any costs. We encourage you to shop around for costs you are comfortable with because it is a huge barrier to access and if you find a price that is more conducive to your budget we are rooting for you to have this experience in whatever way that you can make that possible for yourself. We have made sure to price ourselves in the middle of the market in comparison to other licensed facilitators in our area…. and for an individual journey you get 2 of us. It is our preference to have a partner in this so we do not feel it is fair to charge for two facilitators, but you DO get both of us. If the financial barrier is the primary reason for not being able to do this work, please reach out. While we are not able to offer full scholarships yet, there are other facilitators in town who are able to offer more financial flexibility and scholarships. We encourage you to check them out!
